Does anyone have any experience with this company or engine? I'm going to be replace my engine and want more power. Here in CA, I have to deal with the stupid smog rules and don't want to build an engine only to have it fail a smog test. This seems like a straight forward and affordable way to go to achieve my goals, but I can't find any feedback on this.

I don't know what the price difference would be but I would go with a GM crate motor. Good warranty and if something fails when your pretty far from home there would probably be a GM dealer that can help you out. Whatever you choose I hope it works out for ya'.

These might help with the whole CA engine swap smog rules:
https://www.bar.ca.gov/Industry/Engine_Change_Guidelines.html

http://www.ehow.com/list_6833894_california-dmv-engine-replacement-regulations.html

Basically you have to replace/rebuild your motor with the same motor, or swap it out for a newer, more fuel efficient engine.

They look like they could build a decent engine. I went with a Blueprint 383 TBI crate engine making 285 hp/410 tq and it's a solid motor. It ran on the chip that they sent with it, but I'm trying to improve upon that on my own.

More power in California? Prior resident who intended to return, so I've done a bit of research.

The part where you can't mix class, light vs medium vs heavy. Medium is 14,001 and higher rated vehicles. So you can still use one ton engines.

Just replacing with another 350 and reusing all smog equipment should get you by. Not once was I ever questioned on block or head casting numbers. Plenty of CARB legal mods that had to have numbers and paperwork. Cam, headers, cat.

These trucks are rated pretty loosely. Any well tuned engine will pass with flying colors.

Thanks for the input, folks.

Sounds like I need look into what I can do. I guess a bit of research is in order.
