I just took both mine out with a Cresent wrench with no problems

I got my last one out with an impact wrench and about 40 psi on the regulator. Just gently bumped her loose.

I had set intake off that mighta helped

When I broke mine, I said screw it and changed the whole intake.

Thank you guys very much for all of the comments. I 'm still not sure if I need to remove the intake, but I guess it's better than dropping anything into it.

If I have the intake off and want to replace it with an aftermarket intake, which intake should I get? I saw an Edlebrock one, but I am concerned with passing emissions here in Houston with

an aftermarket intake. Do you think that an aftermarket intake would be a PITA when inspection time rolled around? Thanks again!

I don't think you'll have a problem with inspection.

For more options, just look at carb intake and get a TBI adapter for it.
