I have recently discovered a weird anomaly...
Alternator plugged in volt gauge reads over 19v battery still only charges at 13.8v
Alternator unplugged volt gauge reads under 14v and only runs at 11.6
Just swapped alternators as my last one died and not sure if it matters but I have a Optima red top in the truck. Also notice at other times blinkers cause volt needle to fluctuate.
