Usb ports

I have cigarette lighter ports and an inverter in the console I'm installing in my truck. I have a relay under the console so that they only power up when the ignition switch is on.

I use these all the time for audio installs. Fit rite in the cig hole and most new radios charge ur phone as well as hooking them up.. I don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for but an idea you could always add a step down 5 volt transformer and use it as always charge port.

If running an aft mkt radio w/ a rear female usb port, use something like this:

Just FYI these drop right in to the accessory ports under the cig lighter in the '95+ interiors. The doors over the ports even close 99% of the way. No modification necessary.

I am pulling the dash in a bit and I may line the cubby in a felt material or something.

The pockets from GM are felt lined versus the cheapo ones that come with radio kits. Might be something to look for.

At least it's a Genuine part, I might get it after the holidays. I've got the cheapo $10 one in my 97, but I'd much rather have the felt lined one.

Been running this one for quite a while in place of one of my cigarette lighters. It has a power switch so no concerns about it being constant power. Removed the ashtray panel enlarged the hole to fit the USB and plugged it in. Took maybe 20 minutes.
