Why would you swap the internals?

X2 just get a transfer case at the junkyard remove the old one bolt it in, change the fluid and be on your way

If the outside looks as bad as you say then inside wont be worth keeping, much less work with a swap like everyone says. I wouldn't mind seeing what that transfer looks like.

Guys, new as well... Where do we buy these? Are they sold new or always have to locate through junk yards? If sold new, where? Thanks

Never priced a new transfer, I can only imagine the price, a grand plus most likely. Under $100 at most u-pull yards around here.

You honestly probably wont go through many transfercases

Likely never replace one, even if you use 4wd all the time. Pretty much bulletproof.

Was going to reuse all my internals because they only have 88k on them!

Not bullet proof i cracked mine in half on my 98 lol

Have decided to just weld up and reuse mine, as im tearing it all down for a suspension+body lift!
