Has anyone used a fuel filter/water separator in place of the factory fuel filter? I’ve been digging around trying to find information to see if it’s a viable upgrade. I found a few marine style filters that are suitable for gasoline. Mostly I’m finding diesel style fuel filters and I didn’t know if it would be compatible for gasoline. Wanted something easy to access and change while still performing well.
Why a water separator? That doesn't aid it being easy to access and change, which you state your reasoning is. I'd guess a spin on gasoline fuel filter would be easier to find, than one that included water separation, but it may be industrial.
There are also filters that are just like our factory filters, but use quick connects. Change the fittings on our lines, and the other filter is usable. I think they're from 3800 applications. I considered doing that when I went to nylon lines, but decided not to bother.
