have seen a lot of information on changing the gears in the rear axles. A buddy at work said if you change the rear you have to change the front also. My stupid question is, if I out 4.10 gears in the rear of my 98 K1500, what do I do for the front, buy new axles?Front and rear gear ratios will be the same, if they were different there would be some binding going on when in 4wd. As for gear oil nothing special is needed. I use the lucas heavy duty gear oil in my diffs. 75W90 I think it is.
