I can't exactly help you with the sway bar question, but to my knowledge the 2wd axles are 2 inches short than a 4wd axle, so I'd reuse the original housing if you can an swap the guts.

X2. Just swap the guts in the diff as long as they're both the same size. (OR take this opportunity to get a real carrier and ditch the junky G80.)

Even better... Gives you that much more reason to find a 14 bolt!

Mines not a G80 haha. Can anyone confirm that the 2wd axles are shorter? The sway bar question still remains. And as a college student, im not looking to spend $500+ in a 14 bolt, even though id love to have one.

Actually, if i use the original housing, I wont need to worry about the sway bar brackets.

i spent 75 bucks on mine, got a killer deal on chromoly axles that i didnt need to replace and it had a perfectly good g80 but spent the 400 bucks on a locker for it. bearings and all that were fine to begin with but spent 175 on a rebuild kit for it. now my 14 bolt costed me that much but was half that necesary? no i looked the axle over and couldve literally put it right in place after a gasket, fluid and seal replacemtn for peace of mind. also rebuild the brakes a big whipping 40 dollars for that

Heck, ill think about it then if swapping the internals doesnt work. Rather use what i have and upgrade later.
