Yup. You're probably looking at over $1500 easy including labor to gears in the front and rear. At least in my area.

You need an 8.5" ring and pinion, master install kit for that, 8.25" ring and pinion, master install kit for that.

Personally I'd do a new carrier in the rear while you're in there, do it once and do it right.

I'd also recommend getting rid of the factory G80 when you regear. I did and with fluids I was just shy of $1900.

Ok
Hey im not lookin to kill any dreams but any kind of jump is horrible on a truck unless its built to be jumped (6" rcx is not built to jump at all) even if its a small jump. Also you dont regear the trans, its the front and rear differentials that you regear. Just figured id get ya pointed back in the right direction.
im not gonna do any jumps. Just want it lifted to get into places and not get stuck. Thanx

Stevie not trying to hijack your thread. I just seem like we are in the same boat and we can team up on this.

I just called a local guy who works out of his own shop. He told me he would change the gears out for $250 per the axle if I purchased all the parts. Now I just have to find a parts list ;)
No worries. Its all good
