xj steering shaft, do the 2 preload adjustments on the steering box, make sure tierod ends idler and pitman arms are in good shape.

gearbox reload, get rid of the ragjoint with xj shaft if applicable, obviously good tierods balljoints and that stuff, moog at the least, mevotech delco or trps as well are decent choices, anything cheaper wont have the tolerances you want. otherwise proper install and you shouldnt have issues, pitman and idler as well. after that theres nothing left to have slop
