Sub par hardware once again !

The issue I am seeing is specific with the Drag link ss bracket and bolts ‘

I Threw on a 60$ Bolt on 2wd c1500 Steering stabilizer from RC , seemed they were The only MFGR out there I saw that at least offers bracketry for the 2wd 88-99 Bolt on SS. Im
Sure the shock itself can be had from anyone almost

One of The chinzy 1/4” U/ bolts snapped on me that clamps the U-bolt to the drag link “firmly yet allegedly “.
I may be wrong , but I can’t figure how they expect the push and pull of the drag link to not let the U- bolts slide right across the drag link bar. You can’t really snug them bolts to get enough pressure on the Drag link , what’s gonna give first ?
Anyone have feedback specifically on your personal Steering stabilizer bracket /bolts on the drag link side of things staying put after some mileage ?

You’d think it would be 1/2” I.D holes offered and something a little larger than 1/4” threded U- bolts on the drag link bracket for the amount of force and pull the drag link has vs the shocks pressure .

I’m gonna have to ask for a new U bolt or just figure a Better fix for the Bolts ...
should not have snapped with a 1/4” 13mm ratchet hand tightened .

Dunno where u can find a stout larger U- bolt and nuts for the bracket
Anyone have an idea ?
Thanks

That looks like that was way over-torqued. The plate/bracket is deformed even.

That looks like it could / would work
The drag link bracket is wide enough with enough stock to elongate or re- drill holes 3/8” holes if them U-bolts shown are wider center to center

Rc’s drag-link bracket center to center Looks to be 1- 7/16” but the holes are able to accommodate a wider span u- bolt of about 1-3/4” end to end elongated

Additional what’s Anyone’s take on a slight change modification necessary' or not on the drag link . Was thinking of (filing) out an indent on the bar itself to accommodate the U bolts to have a slight valley for them to clamp and seat down into ?
This imho would keep from them sliding across the drag link if the U-bolt pressure wasn’t enough .

Do you think the wrap around circumference of that U- bolt on Amazon link will fit over my drag link bar ?
Looks like a stock 98 c1500 drag link is 1” circumference, that might me for all 88-98 c1500s and the U- bolt length is 2” tall in this stabilizer kit from rough country.

Mine are about 1-1/2 wide by 2-1/4 long

Not sure about the "op" but for me. I wanted to see if having a stabilizer would make a difference in steering feel, especially having a lifted suburban with bigger size tires then oem

I can understand the need for a stablizer when running larger than stock tires on a 4wd especially if they are wider and heavier.
