I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the gauge of steel that was used on my 1998 Chevrolet K1500? Also did this change at all in this generation of trucks from 1988-2000 including the classic models. How has this changed from the old trucks of the 40's and 50's til now. It was more just for curiosity to see how the sheet metal they use now differ from out trucks (GMT 400's) and even the older trucks before our generation. Also, what type of steel did they use on our trucks? I appreciate any information you may have related to this subject.
