Sounds like our neighbors, after Dad had the shop building built. You think you know how petty your neighborhood can be, till you do something like that, and then you find out it's way worse than you thought.
But it was perfectly okay for the jerk across the street, to have a homemade gantry frame and a chain hoist in the driveway, and be doing cab swaps on trucks in front of God and everybody, or another jerk across the street, to be welding and grinding on metal in the wee hours of the night....

An even better idea was using a 110v winch instead of a chain hoist. Maybe that makes me a higher class jerk across the street?
This is in a residential neighborhood, you appear to have some property away from other homes.
