So we have established you can swap an SM465 to an NV4500 no problem. What about putting an SM465 in place of an NV4500? I have found a '92 K2500 locally, almost identical to my '90 (RCLB, 4WD, even the same color), but it has an NV4500. If I were to put the NV4500 in my '90 and the SM465 in the '92, how would I handle the VSS? I know the VSS in my '90 is in the transfer case so no issues there, but where is the VSS in the '92? If it is in the NV4500, would I have to leave the transfer case attached to the SM465 for a VSS in the '92 and use the VSS in the NV4500 in my '90? Or is the VSS in the transfer case in the '92 also and it would just be plug-and-play?
EDIT : Answered my own question. They both use the same sensor, just mounted in different places.
