when dropping a Dana 60 in the front of a gmt400, is it nessisary to put a different axle, such as a gm 3/4 14 bolt in the rear as well? or can you leave the rear axle stock?. i know it depends on the gears, but im curious

well ive never seen a dana 60 in a 6 lug so you'd have 8 lug in the front and 6 in the rear... and if your going to go through all the work of putting a d60 in the front you mind as well match it up with a 14 bolt ff in the rear. or if you want to stay 6 lug then find a dana 44 or 10 bolt that is six lug for the front and use your same rear or find a 14 sf rear thats six lug. the options are endless, all depends on what you want to do with it and the kind of money and work you are will to do.
