I rented a fender roller tonight and failed to roll them, the bolt pattern didn't match mine, the metal never bent at all, the suspension moved well attempting to roll so now here I am. Has anyone ever grinded their lips so there practically rolled? I've pondered about it but then your getting rid of the spot weld...

An Eastwood roller? I've heard more horror stories about those than good.
I cut a into the lips about every 2", not quite to the edge & then rolled them.

I have always just used a hammer to roll the edges without cutting.

It may not be Eastwood. It worked nice for my Subaru but the thick metal of my truck not so much.

I was thinking if grinding until I got to the other ply of metal on the box.

Pie cutting and pliers always works for me, you can even cut around the spot welds

Hmm maybe grind around the spot welds then bend them up with pliers maybe? My fender lip is hideous anyways hah, not that you can see it.

I just cut right past them, make my slices include them, then bend up. If you have those fat lip pliers they work better

hmm, I don't have those pliers but could probably pick up some. Did you just use snips?
