Is there any specific trick to remove the horn pad? Does it just pop off or are there clips holding it? I am exceptionally wary because of the airbag in there...

(My horn switch has broken in the pad part, and I would like to replace it.)

First I assume you still have an airbag in your steering wheel, disconnect your battery, next you can use a screw driver to release the clips the hold the air bag bag module in, turn the key to the on position and turn the steering wheel sideway's and release 2 of the clips on the rear of the wheel and then turn it the other way sideway's and release the other 2 clip's, then the module should be free.
