The 2 nd video almost sounds like a loose rocker/tappet on my computer not a deep hard knock like a rod etc. More like in upper valve train !?

I have 125,000 on a crate - 4bolt main 350. The last 5 years I get, what sounds like a low-sounding "knock" at start up. ( about 5 knocks)... then it runs just fine.

It will probably do it forever.... I might try a little higher viscosity ... ??

I have 194,000 on my 5.7 in a 96' Ext. Cab and it does the (5 knocks ) at cold start up. Kinda strange but I've talked to a lot of different Chevy Truck guys and they said it happens a lot and not to worry. So.... I don't worry.
