Possible starter problem. Have a question.

1993 Suburban with stock 5.7

My starter continues to spin at times after the key is returned to the run position. It does not spin like power is still being applies to it. It is a 3-5 second whirr as the starter slows down. The problem is intermittant and has not caused any problems yet. Any thoughts or similar experience with this? Should I just replace it?

My vote is to just replace it if it bothers you. They are not very expensive.

I agree. I will just change it out. Is there an American made reman or new. I have done an internet search and other than racing staters I have not been able to confirm the country of origin or remanufacture.
