pinion seal questions

Hopefully this is the right spot, its not the transmission, but connected to it.

I need to replace my pinion seal, and there seems to be a ton of options, mostly based on what transmission you have.

i dont know what i have, since i just bought the truck a week ago. I know its auto with OD.

how do i know what seal to purchase?

Uhhh,pinion seal is not in the tranny,it's in the rear end. Are you replacing the pinion seal or the tail housing seal?

opinion seal, there isnt a "rear end" section on this forum. lol.

OK. Pinion seal has nothing to do with what tranny you have.

Need to know year and whether 10 bolt(8.5" ring gear) or 12 bolt(9.5" ring gear)

That would be a 14b lol.
