From 95-99, 1500 pickups/SUVs had driver's side airbags. In 95-96, only the driver's side had one, then in 97, the passenger side airbag was added for 1500 pickups/SUVs. 2500/3500s didn't need airbags at all because of the safety regulations back then. This is why 97-02 2500/3500s have a hole where the passenger side airbag would go.

Yup that's exactly what Rawhide has; he's a C3500 CCLB so at least 9000# gvw. So no airbag/s required on 8600# gvw or above, in the '90s.
The heavy duty 8 lug 2500 and all single/ex cab, srw 3500 are 8600# gvw. Crews and duallies are higher.
Didn't know these wheels are so bloody expensive, I might have to get a spare from the yard if I find a nice one.
