Best for aluminum is to use a softer media, plastic/walnuts, as it is a softer metal. Also, if you used that blaster to do metal/iron before, any bits and pieces that were left over are going to be imbedded into the aluminum causing corrosion. If you spray the intake with some clearcoat or any other high temp paint you should be fine.
