Bought from Mecum Chicago- 88k miles one owner. Undercarriage not as clean as I'd hoped but she runs well and is in good shape overall. Have some work to do. Here for advice/guidance and any shop recommendations in North TX.

Most of the things on that list can be performed by a generic shop that does suspension work. But I would recommend finding a small, local shop that can handle everything (except alignment?) My youngest brother bought a 90 C1500. He took it to a Firestone shop to get an estimate for replacing something about his gearbox and something else; I can't remember exactly what else. They quoted him $2500! The truck is a work in progress but otherwise very decent from the drivetrain. He only paid $1500 for the truck!

I used to use my buddy mechanic for everything. He's a shadetree mechanic working out of his house, but he's honest and reasonable. Sadly, he's ventured into another gig with his brothers and only does mechanic work on weekends. Since then I've started doing more and more of my own work DIY-style, as do most members here...

Let us know how it goes.

My son worked at Firestone and Goodyear shops before he switched to other chain repair stores. Stay away from Stealerships, Firestone, and Goodyear stores!
