Just acquired my wifes 98 Z71, she was tired of putting gas in it so the keys (and fuel bill) have been relinquished to me. Just in time too, my only other mode of transportation only has 2 wheels, and I'm getting a little old for the cold.

I've spent a good bit of time fixing/replacing some things, but probably the most reliable truck I have owned so far. Still needs a few things but we did just drive to upstate NY from S.Ga. In it.

The day my wife said she "had to have it". I just grinned and told her it was a little rough for what she wanted, knowing she would get tired of it soon.

Pulled up to a pump is where it spends most of its time. 2200mi round trip over thanksgiving averaged about 14-15mpg I was kinda impressed, I set my fuel budget with an estimate of 10mpg. Ran flawlessly there and back, crapped the rear u-joint the day after we returned.

Looks good! What kind of lift you have on it?

Sent from ®obland!

Honestly, no clue. Asked the PO and he gave me that deer in the headlights look, its a 6" suspension/3" body lift but I have no clue who made it. Rides better than any of my previous lifted trucks, even with the dual front shock setup. Or maybe because of the dual front shocks???

He must have not put it on. It looks great though. Just needs some bigger rubber.
