Need some clarity with the 3" body lift

Its the linkage that connect to the steering column under the hood. They want you to weld in an extension. I just took the kinks out of the rod by bending it and I had enough play in it to shift through all the gears.

yeah you should have a cable, not a metal rod like the 94 and older.
