Alright this is my first build thread I have ever attempted so try to bare with me. Ok, so my truck has been pretty damn reliable for the three years I have owned it until November 2013. So I decided I would make the ls swap plunge. I started with picking up a 2002 5.3 ffv engine. I bought dirty dingo engine mounts which I highly recommend to everyone.

The one thing I knew I wanted to do with this swap was to insure that all wiring and coils be hidden so you can actually see the engine, new engine are pretty cluttered. So I have gone through the trouble to hide as much of the harness I can. I have yet to relocate the coils though. My computer has been unlocked and base tuned by one of my good friends and the truck started right up.

About half way through the build I came across a rebuilt slightly upgraded t56 from a 1994 z28 from a guy at work. We made a deal for $1000 and I was the new excited owner of a t56. Since the trans is the lt1 version I placed an order with rock and gear for their lt1 to ls1 conversion kit. Bought a flywheel and clutch set, pulled a clutch pedal, master cylinder, gauge cluster, and column cover from my parts truck. Oh and I also bought a conversion shifter made by McLeod to move the shifter up to the inspection plate.

Ok, that's my truck for the most part now on to the pictures!

In this pic pic the trans is finished, and I made my clutch line. This t56 started life as a 1994 lt1 that I converted to ls1 spec and now mid shift conversion.

Hoping to have more updates tomorrow, I don't get a lot of time to work on it so it's kinda slow going
