Looking to see if someone can point me in the right direction to get a set of long tubes for my 98 k1500 5.7 vortec, I’m not worried about egr issue’s because I plan on getting rid of it anyway but I’m looking for advice on what exact headers will clear on both driver and passenger side, if anyone has a suggestion or a link to what headers fit, it would be greatly appreciated.

These fit my Tahoe. The passenger side needs a mild adjustment to the heat shield near the starter, other than that they slid right in.

If you're looking for performance you don't want those(no disrespect intended revmatcher). Because of the 2-1/2"collectors the primary tubes run into a wall at the collector. Blow the image up and you'll see where there is such an angle at the transition that half the primary tube is blocked off. Good headers will have a nice, long transiton at that junction. 3" collectors are much better 4" better yet.

What you say is true and there are many constraints, space, cost, difficulty. I chose to go with 2.5" all the way back. The pipes fit above the torsion bar crossmember. I spent ENOUGH, it's not a race truck. **** the whole truck only cost $7,000.

Those headers don't look like the ebay headers you put up the link for.
yours do have a smoother transition.

2.5" collector will not choke a sub 500 hp small block enough to even notice. The headers on my Titan had 1-3/4" primaries necked into 2-1/2" collectors and it picked up a ton of power.

Did you click on the link to those headers? It's not the 2-1/2" collectors,it's the short steep transition from the primary to the collector. Going by the photos of the underside of his truck the headers he recommended are not the headers on his truck. I stand by what I said,I wouldn't buy the headers on the link and hang them on anything I wanted to perform.

I looked at the ones in the link. I also stand by what I stated. Those look to have a nicely done transition. 500 hp would not be a problem with those and 2.5" pipes. The L31 or really any SBC street style head exhaust ports will choke the flow long before those headers do. I have made 450 hp through JBA shorties for these trucks. Sure it might not have been ideal, but it ran strong.
