I have a 88 c1500 305. I curently have a set of 265/75r16s. And 3.08 rear gear. I have the oppurtunity to get a set of 285/70r17. How bad would this be. I only drive 14 miles round trip to work and thats it. I want to hold off rear gearing for when I get a six lug rear axle and convert the front. Im just curious if its enough to put strain on the tranny and rear diff?

I ran a similar set up 33x1250s and 3.08s. Until I upgraded to 4.56s If you're never in a hurry it won't be too bad. But of course my transmission could die a horrible death tomorrow and i wouldn't be surprised.
