lol exactly, IDK what to make of it either.
there is a difference though between fitting them, and driving with them... the 265s fit, but driving off-road, articulating beyond what any HWY would require- they rub! (though not anymore... the last thing that rubbed was that plastic, but that's in a mudhole somewhere now)

you can look on a previous page and see the overall of my truck... I think it looks level with the add-a-leafs on the back....

these are American eagle 16x8s and (if im looking it up right) backspacing is 4" so they DO stick out from the body more than stock wheels because of the deeper dish. stock wheels- the face is almost flat.... they designed it to totally hug the body/frame for "aerodynamics"

ok, I called several companies than make these lift keys.
they all say 285/75R16 tires will fit, BUT, will rub on all the chevys they tested when they went off-road and really got the suspension working.....
mystery solved

still doesn't explain why you rubbed with 265/75's, which is a stock tire size...

Yeah you honestly should have never rubbed period. I have never had stock wheels on mine the current ones are even wider than the ones I ran 285s on and I ran 305s on them with stock crank and an AAL out back

probably because I was hitting woops and dips at 20MPH and the truck is almost 5,000 lbs.... but now I don't =)

but yeah... point is 33"s will fit for driving, but, not in open country pound the suspension, kind of driving

Even maxing out your suspension you should be able to clear stock tires, there's a reason manufactures go with the size tire they do for vehicles.

I have another theory guys... he said the bolt for his keys is below the cross member, perhaps whoever he got the truck from had decranked the crap out of it to lower it and he hasnt cranked it back to stock height?

That could be it. I had suggested if at all possible he can try cranking them up more

i have 3 inch lift keys. (rcx 3 inch lift). when i lay under the truck my keys sit almost level and i am clearing 33s. i have 15x10 wheels that have a 3 inch back spacing. my fenders are cut a good bit and my fender is cut a good bit. (offset wheels suck sometimes). weak bars is my guess. get new tbars and then see how it sits.
