Gas tanks

I wasn't sure where to ask this so here goes. Does anyone know if I can swap out my 25 gallon gas tank for a 34 gallon tank? I've got the extended cab with 6 foot bed on a 98 K1500.

Has anyone found any other options to increase the fuel capacity on a short bed?

Dual tank set-up? 2-dr Tahoe tank in place of spare tire? Aux tank/truck box in bed?

Throw a 44 gallon Suburban tank in the back between the rails. It'll hang down and look ugly just like it does on a Suburban, but the bumper will cover at least half of it. Have to lose the spare tire winch setup and maybe a crossmember or two...

Like said the stock 26 gallon is as long as will fit in the shortbed model.
