This will be used as a DD, light tow rig, and all around service truck. 4x4 would be nice but the other truck I am looking at is a 3500HD so its not 4x4 but can tow a lot heavier. I either need to lighten the load of my 95 1500 (current DD truck loaded w/ tools) or 93 3500 (service/tow rig)

Being a 454, I'm sure it will pull anything I want. Price is good so I can sell it and get my money back. TBI can run on propane easy (not cheap now but summer prices typically get below $1.00). @ 200K I'm sure the heads could need gone through, tune up, and the list goes on.

What would ya'll do to test it out.

Here's the other trucks I'm looking at:

This is what I want not what I will likely get http://stillwater.craigslist.org/cto/4317365354.html

Top of my list but doesn't look quite as nice (I gross 36K) http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/4297342280.html

I like my 6.5's http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/4246923499.html

Only if it is a TBI http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/4319959392.html

Interior is trashed (I have a spare mild built 4l80) http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/4306375693.html

Too big but I could put the lift to work! http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/4262452886.html

I don't know what you do with your trucks so here it goes.
1. Go for it, for that price you can't go wrong.
2. Nope, too spendy. I don't care how nice the flatbed is, I wouldn't spend 7K on a 200K non rebuilt truck.
3. Not a bad deal but that 6.5 is a ticking time bomb with 245K. If you could use a flat bed with a lift and have a spare 6.x at your disposal then this one would be my choice.
4. Nope. Not even om my worst day. Part of my comment was because I'm not a fan of square bodies.
5. Um, if it needs a torque converter, why doesn't it run? Half the price would be my highest offer.
6. Worthless as a work truck, move on.
Good luck!

I gross 36K typically hauling equipment. I currently do that with my Dmax but before the clutch went out I used my 93 K3500. Basically I haul to the job in a big heavy low MPG truck and drive to the job in a truck that gets decent MPG until the job is done or I send my hired hand off in my MPG truck.

I haul 200 Gallons a day to jobs and usually use my 95 K1500, it is going down for a frame off resto.

1. That would easily replace my 95K1500 other than its not 4x4

2. The bale bed is worth 2500 alone, so 4500 for the truck. Whatever truck I get will be getting a bale bed anyways and new that is 5.5K added to my price.

3. Like I said it would need a bale bed. I have a GEP and built 599 in the barn. Between this and my 240K mile 93 K3500 I can get everything done.

4. I always wanted a square body but am too attached to EFI. Hard to find a TBI square body.

5. After talking to the kid it will idle but dies in gear. It is cheap but need a lot of interior work besides the obvious diagnosis and possible trans swap.

6. Its definitely not top of the list but not the bottom, I doubt its much bigger than my dmax. (I need a place to put my 22.5 Alcoas! lol)

What's the question?

If you like it, can use it and can afford it: buy it.
