I don't see a lot of light duty 3/4 tons but I would say the bottom spring is thicker and longer looking than any 1500 I see. (I personally wouldn't call the bottom spring an "overload" but it's all semantics). My 1995 GMC k1500 ecsb with F44 did not have 4+1 rear leaves. Only 3+1

About 15 years ago, I was talking to a guy who had a 1998 K1500 ecsb parked at my office. He said "it was the same as the 3/4 ton". I said no because the gvwr will be 6600. He opened the door and I'll be damned but the sticker inside the door said 7200 gvwr but it was definitely a 1500 with the 9.5 rear end.

It's interesting that someone found a light duty 2500 with factory 4.10 gears. I didn't think that existed.

My 98 1500 F44 had the 4+1 leaf pack. I don’t recall what door sticker said but
it had RPO C5S - 6600gvwr.
My 96 3+1
has RPO - C5M - 6100gvwr, but has 4+1 now.
My new aftermarket 4+1 leaf’s are rated at 4050lbs, so would be interesting to know what the different ratings the OEM springs for 1500HD versus the 2500LD that someotherguy has pointed out.

My truck's RAWR was 3600# stock, heavy half is 4000# or 4200#, and LD2500 is 4600#.

As far as 6 lug 9.5 SF’s and getting any replacement parts, is there any difference for these for 88-98? Obviously, gearing aside. Any case markings to “uncover”?

Rear axle on my 95 F44 is rated 3750. When i bought the truck in 95, I was also looking at a light duty 2500. It was k2500 ecsb. Rear axle was rated at 4410. Which happens to be load range C tires x 2. Brochure said light duty 2500 rear springs are 4800. ( Rclb).

That's weird, I wonder if it varied by year? I got my numbers from door stickers at the junkyard. Of course they're subject to my memory.

Not that I've come across. Parts are easy because this axle was an option, just make sure to specify 9.5" diff when getting brake parts, axle seals, etc. Oh, you will need a conversion u-joint though. And parking brake cables up as far as the adjuster that sits near the front of the leaf spring.

I’m still on the 9.5 learning curve, so this one says for semi-floater but for 8600gvrw. There is another that says up to 7200gvrw, but doesn’t specifically say for 9.5 or SF.
