Factory Tweeters?

Got a 99 Tahoe 2DR with the factory tweeters. I upgrading to a set of aftermarket component speakers. What I am wondering is how do you separate the factory tweeters from the factory mounting plates that clip in?

As far as I know there's no easy way to separate the factory tweeters from that bracket, I believe they're one piece or glued. I had the audio shop that installed my DLS tweeters make some brackets that matched the outer dimensions of the factory one. IIRC there was a guy here making them at one point... Not sure if he's still around. Let me Google a little...

They are glued together. Just took mine apart yesterday.
But I couldn't really mount the aftermarket tweeters with them. I used the mounts that came with the component speakers.
Your second picture. Stick a flat-head between the two plastic pieces. Underneath where the connectors and wires are soldered together.
I threw mine away, luckily just a bit of coffee grounds on em.
