I don't offroad much.
If I do, it's usually dirt roads, hunter's trails, and some 4X4 only trails.
Bare in mind that I live in Colorado so our trails are the mountain type.
Our trails are mostly rocky and your either climbing up, or descending down, some mountain.
The KYB's do really well on our trails, but they aren't high speed trails.
Trails here (at least where I go) are very slow going, and they will put your truck into some interesting angles.
The biggest improvement I liked, was the on road handling. The KYB's seamed to improve handling on twisty mountain roads, even when towing.
On Colorado roads, handling is a big plus.
Good brakes are too.
