Put a battery in the new girl to play around and the changer keeps cycling even with the key off. Any idea what's going on?

It's probably toast. Those types of players don't seem to last forever, whether OEM or aftermarket. Especially when mounted in an area that gets lots of dirt/debris - note all the french fries and misc. stuff around it.

When I bought my '92 back in '99, it had a Sony changer under the driver seat, and it was surrounded in dog fur. I was surprised it worked at all. I moved it to the extended cab armrest pocket after cleaning it up and it worked for a couple years before it gave up.

I've one in the 05 sub that I've never used, so no big deal. Just wondering really. It's day is done. A new double din with a back up cam will be happening. I think I've had 4 or 5 in the vehicles over the years and never used em.
