Carbed 350 Vortec w/ 4l60e formally 350 TBI/700r4 ??????????????

Im trying to swap my 350/TBI out for a carbed vortec w/ 4L60E into my 1988 CSB. My question is, since my truck has the old style rod linkage type setup for the gear selector and a newer truck with this powertrain has cable system. So do I remove this nuetral safety switch andjust hook up the bracket that it's hooked up to like on the old 700r4?

i was wondering if any of you guys happen to know the color of wiring of the original purple/yellow VSS wires for 1988 c1500 2wd. And I have the pigtail for the 98 Yukon with 4l60e and the wires light blue and green. any help would be greatly appreciated.
