Just bought a 98 extended cab short bed V6 5 speed. It had 56,000 miles on it when I got it. It is pretty nice. I have a 95 that my parents bought brand new that now has 292,000. Ive driven these trucks my whole life.. I bought American racing 172 Baja wheels for the 98. 16x8 0mm offset. Looking to get a little bigger tire, than the 235 75 15. Any suggestions. Mainly highway miles, my truck is a Cheyenne, (plain jane) looking to fill in the fender wells with tire, with no rubbing, . My truck has no plastic molding on side of truck, and no chrome on fender. Thanks yall

You can easilly fit 265/65R16s on the rear of your truck. I don't really know much about 2WD trucks, but I know they sit a lot lower up front. You can probably get 265/65R16s up front too, but it may require you to crank torsion bars. 265/65R16s are stock on K series Z71 model trucks. I can link you a picture of them on my K series 4x4, if you want.

No torsion bars on a 2wd lol and you can use coil spacers or do a spindle lift (alot of people go that route) some people have stuffed 31s under a 2wd

I've got a '97 C1500 ECSB, with 32x11.5x15's. Very minimal rubbing, only when the wheel is cranked all the way in either direction. No bumper trimming either. Own 1.25" spacers for the front, just having trouble finding lug nuts that will make them work. If you wanted to stuff 32's under there its definitely possible.

You could fit 245/75 for sure no problem. And I bet 265/75 wouldn't be an issue either, that's a little bit taller and narrower than a 31x10.5, and that tire fits fine stock, thought it is close to the max size you're able to run stock.
