97+ 4l80 into a 93 c3500

Wanted to get anyone’s advice on here. Friend brought his truck to me slipping in 3rd so pulled the trans not thinking about anything and it’s a late 97+ 4l80. Had it rebuild and I think they put the correct (for the trans) pcs in. But how and can you make the late 4l80 work with a 93? It has the original prom which is the (bram). I have updated the harness and made a new cooler line so those things are done.
Any advice would be great

I did the exact opposite I have a 92 dually with original trans and put a 8.1 in it with a 99+ style computer and harness, had no issues with pcm controlling it
