95 vs. 96 ashtray

I have a 95 Tahoe with a cracked dash. I pulled a good 96 dash, just missing the coin/ashtray.

Could I swap over the whole ashtray from the 95? Will it fit?

Yes..the assembly pulls from the dash at 4 points. Pop up the center square pin in each of the 4 connectors, then it loosens the other clips to fall down. Only thing I’m not sure on is the ashtray light.

Ok. I didn't pull the harness with the new dash being a 96 with OBD2 & vortex. I am going to use my harness with the new dash. I was wondering if the ashtrays would swap since I'm missing the ashtray but have the power plugs. But might just buy a ashtray when I'm at the junkyard.

Just wanted to see the options.
