95' 350 idle rpm's

Hi guys,
I'm wondering at which rpm your 5,7 is idling. Mine is at 1000, isn't this a bit too high? I guess this would contribute to my very unV8tish sound??

If too high how can I decrease the rpms?

Idle at cold would be around 1000, but warm would be 550 or so. Check for vacuum leaks around the TBI, check the IAC and TPS, and look for vacuum hoses that might need replaced.
