Kinda surprised that it causes the cable to be a foot short, though.
Yeah well, I didn't realize my parking brake lever being stuck down was taking up some so there was most of that gained when I released it. So of course your thinking is correct.
And yes, the brake light was on. :D

Side track---

What's all the service manual mentioning of "mark the the relationship of wheel to hub" and " mark the relationship of drum to axle" about?
Surely we weren't supposed to install them exactly the way they came from the factory? And so on?

Here we go.... 2 identical AC Delco drums from the big A....
I'll never learn....

one looks like I just made it in the backyard....metal slag and bits everywhere....
they're both obviously different from each other....no weights on the janky looking one..

Both made in China on box...

Looking at the drum for a 1999 chevrolet suburban, it looks like the right dimensions.. 78.6mm center hole...
but , I don't have a caliper, so I'm getting like 78.8mm measuring my old one with a ruler...surely it's my measurement that's off....

Obviously the AC Delco I bought is wrong...
it's got a 90.6mm center hole.....
I'm confused...
I bought everything pretty much for a 1991 chevy suburban v1500 thinking that was correct and everything seems to fit...shoes, adjuster kit, springs...wheel cylinder...
Autozone has some for a 99 burb so I'll check them out tomorrow....

Does that make sense that my 93 Yukon would have a rear/ brake setup off of a 99?

What about the wheel cylinder? Should I be concerned if it doesn't show compatibility? I mean, this one I got for the 91 suburban fits...but there are different bore sizes among different years......
damnit...

and what's up with the different sized lugnut stud holes? surely they should be the same across years? or no?

Is the part number visible on the odd (unfitting) drum? Is it the correct part?
Part number isn't anywhere on it but I bought AC Delco 18B255...Which was wrong....actually, the 8985 stamped on the one AC Delco above references a Duralast 8985 brake drum..which fits the older Suburban and Blazer I was (incorrectly) looking for........not sure what that's about....same part?

Just grabbed some Autozone Duralast 8999 drums locally. TBH,they looked miles better than the Amazon AC Delco drums anyway...
I just didn't know what I was looking for since my rear is somewhat unknown. I thought it was from an older Blazer or Suburban but it appears it must be from a newer one. Didn't think to measure the hub or lug nuts....I guess they were different at one time.....

Just the setup with springs and everything looked like the older Blazers so I got stuck there...Actually referenced the older Blazer brakes to do the install....
My 93 shows it only came with 10" brakes. These are the 11 5/32 brakes
