You qwont need to swap harnesses, Engines should be identical.

I think someone cut up part the harness when using a 96 vortec block with TBI setup. There's 2 wires spliced together near the t stat housing.

Well two of them look like brown and black spliced together in that picture. I'll find out let you know in a few hours.

those are just grounds.

Yep those are just the ground's and originally there were 2 ring terminals, I always cut them off and crimp on one instead.
