i know the whole 6 lug conversion has been covered but quick question, for the rear axle assembly will it make a difference if you use one from a 2wd truck or one from 4x4 truck? I heard the 4x4 is wider than the 2wd. Also, will this make a difference if you use one from a 1500 or a 2500? My truck is C1500 2wd.

4wd is wider, 1500 and 2500 are the same widths. From what I have seen the 2500 6 lugs are harder to find and are typically a stronger 14 bolt.

If you are doing a 6 lug conversation, you need one out if a 4wd. If not, it'll still be 5 lug.

Unless it's a LD2500 2wd or a Van 6 lug (might get lucky and be a 14 bolt)

I got lucky and found a LD2500 14 bolt 3.73 gears with Posi
But I’d really like to keep my truck 5 lug, so are the 2wd 1500 axles the same as the axles in a LD2500 to where I can just pull the axles out and swap them with my original 5 lug axles?
