I have a 94 k2500 suburban that the tranny has gone out and its too much to rebuild.I can get a nice built 400 for cheap with a 355 small block too,but i might just stick to the 350 tbi for gas mileage. So the real question is whats need to be changed or replace to thow a 400 turbo in place of my 4l80e tranny?

IMO, sell the TH400, and find yourself a 4L80E or rebuild yours.

You can get a 4L80E from a junkyard for cheap. By cheap I mean less than $500 for one with low miles. Kiss any kind of fuel mileage goodbye with a Th400.

You'll dump overdrive, but you'll keep the TBI for mileage?

Just rebuild the 80e in your garage. It's not that hard and can be cheap if you just want a stocker build and oyu haven't wasted a ton of hard parts.
