Just got my new 454SS lower valance & the factory lights. Can't wait to put 'em on! Is it possible to wire these into the factory fog light switch?
There's a bunch of wires coming out of the back of the swaitch. More than the 'power & ground' wires that I would expect.

fog lights arnt exclusive to 454ss's :p .... the factory ones are wired to only go on when your running lights are on and the switch is lighted... so... power, ground, dash light?

Wow, TA4S, that's the kind of diagram I'm looking for, but I'll have to post a pic of what I have.
I have a '98, & a factory switch that was a wrecker find. Goes between the cluster & radio, above the cargo light switch.
The spoiler is an aftermarket, with precut holes, & the lights are after-market repro's. And, other than some 130w bulbs to be installed that's ALL i've got. So I'll have to make all the wiring. I'll post a pick of the backside of the switch tomorrow.

your placement is incorrect. the factory switch goes right next to the cd player, below the airbag switch. I just took my switch out and I have 6 wires going into the switch. heres some pictures. I hope they help.

What is that fog light switch out of? That is exactly what I want to mount above my cargo light switch since i can't put it where yours is.

Mine was a wrecker find. Late '90's SUV GMT 400. Batteries in my camera are dead. Have to charge 'em overnight. Post pix tomorrow.

Actually, now that I think about it. I got just the switch from the wreckers, & then I had to get the whole mounting plate that all 3 switches fit into. That's the airbag keyed switch, the cargo lamp switch & the one for the fog lights. I got the switch out of a 4X4 suv & they have a Hi/Lo switch for 4 wheel drive where Shortchevy has his fog light switch. I didn't know that there was a different spot to mount it, so I mounted it where I got it out of the donor truck.

So, it only took me 2 weeks to get around to this, but here's some pix of what I'm messing with.
I located the switch where I did, because the vehicle that I got the switch out of was a 4X4, & the lower position is occupied by the switches required for those trucks. I put it in the same position as the truck that it came out of. Didn't realize there were alternate places for it.
The internal bracket that mounts all 3 switches was a stealership purchase. Cheap.
I have no idea what wires are for what. Functionally electronically illiterate.
Any ideas? Clues? Suggestions? Smart-ass comments?
