350 tbi headers compatible with vortec heads?

Looking to upgrade the entire exhaust system (headers,y pipe, cat, muffler etc) on my 90 K1500. However, I intend to install vortec heads when the engine needs rebuilt. Will headers designed for the L05 work with vortec (L31) heads or should I just wait and do both upgrades simultaneously?

Depends on what you do with the EGR. If you delete it, they will bolt right up.

Awesome. Thank you. I'm planning to register my truck as a collector (exempt from emissions in PA) as soon as I get another vehicle to daily drive.

With a little welding, they could be made to work with the egr, but with it being TBI, I assume you are not going thru the trouble of hooking it up anyway.

If I'm not mistaken. The exhaust ports are different shape. Not that a dremel couldn't make them the same shape

They are a little, but the headers are not gonna matter, just be sure the gaskets you use are for the vortec.

I run Vortec heads with TBI headers, i jusr use standard SBC gaskets, never had any issues.
