Looking to see if I can use a 88-98 4 inch lift kit on my 2000. Why wouldn't I be able to if went for it? I want a lift on the truck, but not a 6". Suggestions/ ideas?

Is a 2000 model year K2500 still a GMT400? I'd have guessed GMT800, and totally incompatible. But what do I know?

If that lift kit is for an 8 lug, and as mentioned your truck is a 400, then yes.

Could be either, but a GMT-800 3/4 would be pre-HD label for 99 and 2000.

Most kits are listed 4-6", or 5-7" with an 8 lug. The lower lift amount is with t-bars in "stock" location, higher lift amounts is after a t-bar crank.
