Took the grill off tonight so I could paint it flat black. Workin in 90° weather when there's 80% humidity is not idea. Started by using an 80 grit sanding block then moved to a 200 grit piece. The 200 really dulled the "chrome-plating" like is necessary. I am going to paint the chrome black and then do the bow tie summit white to match the truck.

First coat of black paint. Used some old clothes lines to hold the grille up nicely

All painted with the white bow tie and smoked corner lights. I need to add lights to the top corner markers

The grill all installed now. When I go to paint the autumn wood black I'll paint the portion below the grill that is that color.

Rebuilt the drums this week. Not as complicated as I had anticipated but still difficult

Took the trash drop in liner out and rolled in bed liner and made a "cap". Turned out pretty well for having no experience with this stuff. I used some spray can stuff and it was worthless. Had to hold the can upside down and was worthless, used it mainly to get corners and hard to reach areas.

My guess it that is was the Rustoleum bedliner. I've used that stuff quite a bit over the years and love it, but the last batch of cans I picked up when I was spraying my rear bumper/tire carrier, the first two I had that same problem and I had to hold them upside down to make them spray but the last can (which was an older can) sprayed fine like all the rest I've ever used. My guess it Rustoleum had a bad batch because that's the first time I have ever had a problem from them.

The bedliner does look great though!

I sprayed my entire Jeep with the rustoleum stuff back in 08. Went through about 8-10 cans and it held up to TONS of abuse. Just spray it with a pressure washer after a wheeling trip and it looked great again.
