Just bought my first full sized truck.
Its a 97 gmc 2500.
Its a nice truck but it needs tires. I have some 33/12.5/15 tires from my ranger and i was wondering if 15 inch rims will fit on a 2500

If its an 8 lug 15's will not work. they will rub on the front calipers. If its a 6 lug you might be able to get away with 15's. But a little more info about your truck would be helpful.

a 6 lug will rub? I have 265-75-16 and their 8 lug and they don't rub so how would a 6 lug at 15 rub when a 16 inch rim don't? mine is also a 2500 gmc sierra 1997

^^^You sort of answered your own question. The 16 is bigger on the inside to allow more room for the calipers. Where as a 15 have less room so there's less room for the calipers. Even on the 1500's certain 15" rims may rub because of the different shape of the rim and offset
