It’s old wherever it can from.
BTW- I saw Bob Seger&The Silver Bullet Band in 1975. They opened for Kiss! I was 14.

Seger had played locally and regionally for a lot of years but could never quite hit it nationally until Kiss let him open for them.

Seger never forgot that and up to his very last show, was always looking for good local bands to open for him.

That happens a lot in the music industry. Bands are a big deal in their home area, but can't quite get national attention, until the right combination of things occur.
